In early July, the Novilase website novilase.fr got a facelift. The NEW Novilase website is packed with useful tools for clinicians, support staff, and patients. We encourage you to jump in and look around.
For patients we have featured a Tell A Friend page for a simple way to share this site with potential friends or family members that could benefit. Also there is a section for Sharing Your Voice to use social media as a form of sharing relevant information with your network. For physicians and staff, there is a password-protected page with marketing and support materials for the study.
If you haven’t checked out Novilase’s Facebook and Twitter you might be surprised how fun, easy, and helpful sites can be. Don’t forget to like and follow Novilase’s social media pages!
Before the Novilase website use to only explain laser therapy for FDA approved for benign tumors. The purpose for the new design and update were to also include the page for the current clinical trials now occurring in the United States, Great Brittan, and France.
The hospital sites in the Novilase Clinical Trial are completed their training requirements and are actively searching for candidates to help join the study. There are 7 active USA sites, 3 UK sites, and 3 France sites in two named Novilase Clinical Trials (BR-002 and LASERBREAST1). The locations include:
United States
United Kingdom
Bristol: | Southmead Hospital – North Bristol NHS Trust |

Norwich: | Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals-NHS Foundation Trust |
France
Paris: | AP-HP Hôpital Lariboisière |

Here is a little preview of what a few physicians and investigators are saying about the Novilase Clinical Trial.
« When I see a potential Novilase Clinical Trial candidate, I begin the conversation by asking the patient what they wish could happen. Usually that question begins to pave a path, dreaming about the day when a cure for breast cancer could be possible. Women do a remarkable job running with new ideas, better treatment options, and how they can contribute by just joining the study. The idea that they can help make that dream a reality sparks a glimmer of hope not only for themselves, but for the future women they can impact to have a different experience someday. »
– Dr. Michael Shere, principal investigator, chief investigator surgeon at
Southmead Hospital-North Bristol NHS Trust (Bristol, UK)
« The talk about re-excision rate often comes up when discussing the topic of surgery with my patients. This presents a golden opportunity to mention how they can participate in the Novilase Clinical Trial and how laser ablation can help cut down on any repeat lumpectomies. Usually after explaining how treating the tumor with laser gives defining margins and helps avoid repeat surgeries, the patient wants to be involved with the study. »
– Dr. Robert Maganini, breast surgeon at
Alexian Brothers Health System (Bartlett, IL, USA)
« I like to point out to any of my patients who are considering a mastectomy, that before they have surgery they can donate their breast tissue towards science research and open the door for something good to come from this bad situation. That usually shifts the patient’s frame of mind off themselves to helping others. Those actions feel rewarding and suddenly being involved in the Novilase Clinical Trial is an exciting positive effort in the midst of a scary cancer diagnosis. »
– Dr. Barbara Schwartzberg, principal investigator, chief investigator surgeon at
Rose Medical Center (Denver, CO, USA)
